Corvette in distress in GTE Pro, Ferrari ensures at Le Mans

The GTE Pro race took an unexpected turn with the near elimination of the No. 63 Corvette shortly before noon at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (Sarthe). Already delayed by two minutes due to the intervention of the Safety Cars, Jan Magnussen a perdu le contrôle de son bolide dans les virages Porsche et a touché le mur en béton.

After a stop of more than six minutes in the pits, the Dane left two laps behind the Ferrari n°51 of AF Corse. This incident also benefits Porsche, which places two 911 RSRs on the provisional podium with the No. 91 ahead of the No. 93.

In LM P2, two leaders of the event hit the tire walls with force: Pastor Maldonado (Oreca) and Nyck de Vries (Dallara). If the Venezuelan gave up, the Dutchman was able to take his prototype back to the garage for makeshift repairs.

Finally, the GTE Am category is still led by the Keating Motorsports Ford GT, but the championship leaders, Team Project 1, have closed to 1'42''.
