As we write these few lines, the sun and good weather are hovering over the Sarthe circuit. On site, the entrants take advantage of the first free practice sessions to get their bearings and familiarize themselves with the track before the double round of the clock begins this Saturday. A double clock tour which should start under a much less sunny sky than that of this Thursday.
The weather, this parameter that we cannot manage by any means, should act up this weekend. If all the teams wish to ride on a dry track throughout the meeting, the story should be quite different, at least from Saturday, the day of departure.
At the start of the day, “very cloudy skies with short sunny spells” and “a few showers” are expected according to Météo France forecasts. In the afternoon, a few thunderstorms could appear above the Sarthe circuit, as could showers in the early evening with wind gusts of 25 km/h.
During the evening, the sky will remain overcast and even foggy overnight. A few showers will still be there according to Météo France.
Sunday should continue at the same pace, namely overcast skies with a "slight improving trend", Météo France announces. “A few light showers” are still forecast by the National Weather Service.
If these weather data are confirmed within the next few hours, the teams will have to adapt to them and therefore change the settings of their cars as the conditions are different. No precipitation, there is still time before we see if these showers forecast by Météo France will be recurring, temporary or ultimately non-existent. It’s up to Mother Nature to decide.
