De Vries, Van Uitert, Jensen and Abril selected for 2019 Rookie Tests

Traditional meeting of the World Endurance Championship (WEC), the 2019 Rookie Test session in Bahrain scheduled for Sunday December 15 will allow four drivers to test one of the cars entered in the regular season.

This year, Formula 2 champion Nyck de Vries se glissera dans le cockpit de la Toyota TS050 Hybrid, après avoir participé aux 24 Hours of Le Mans 2019 in the LM P2 class with Racing Team Nederland.

The Signatech team-Alpine will allow the Dane Mikkel Jensen to tryAlpine A470 in LM P2. A reward that makes sense for the regular host of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) in the LM P3 category, a championship also managed by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO).

Revelation of the season in ELMS in the LM P2 class (in contention for the title), the Dutchman Job van Uitert testera la Porsche 911 RSR dans sa version 2019. Enfin, le Français Vincent Abril, After a first contact with the Le Mans classic this year, will drive the Porsche 911 RSR of the Team Project 1 team.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for these promising drivers to demonstrate their talent, their determination, their professionalism to teams that represent the world's leading manufacturers, Toyota, Porsche and Alpine », says Pierre Fillon, President of the ACO.

Gérard Neveu, the head of the WEC, recalls “the perfect example of Thomas Laurent, now a member of Toyota Gazoo Racing as reserve driver after trying the LM P1 proto in December 2017."
