Dumas: Don't make a single mistake

Romain Dumas reunites with his teammates Timo Bernhard and Mike Rockenfeller at the wheel of the No. 18 Audi R1 TDI for the 79th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The victorious crew in the Le Mans event last year hopes to achieve just as good a result this weekend, even if the prototype will compete in the Le Mans double-lap race for the first time.

The Frenchman is optimistic following the German manufacturer's preparations. “I feel confident leaving for Le Mans. All our tests went well. We have improved the set-up of the R18 TDI since the Spa race and the car is now easier to drive. We would really like to give Audi another victory. »

Romain Dumas knows that the battle between Peugeot and Audi will once again be intense and will not allow the crews to make the slightest mistake. “At Le Mans, we will face the same opponents as in previous years”, adds the Alésien. “Like us, they are committed to a new car. It will be a difficult race. The golden rule for Saturday and Sunday will be to stay on track and not make a single mistake. »

Find in the next issue of AUTOhebdo, on newsstands from Wednesday, around fifteen pages dedicated to the Le Mans event with exclusive interviews with Anthony Davidson, driver of the Peugeot 908 n°7, and Philippe Sinault, director of the Signatech-Nissan team, as well as a report on the security of the circuit without forgetting the column by Henri Pescarolo.
