Endurance – Neel Jani: “Don’t rest on Porsche’s glorious past”

“It’s a dream come true”. In just a week, on Monday July 1st to be precise, Neel Jani will join the very exclusive club of official pilots Porsche, who has just formalized his recruitment. The Swiss, who will complete his entire program in WEC and in ALMS with Rebellion Racing, will have the new mission of participating in private tests on the new prototype that the brand will enter next year in LM P1, for its return to WEC and 24 Hours of Le Mans at the highest level ofEndurance. “I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel for the first time and contributing my driving experience”, expresses the former test pilot of Red Bull and Sauber in Formula 1.

“Porsche is an incomparable brand in motorsport and I am proud to now be one of their factory drivers”, relates the Helvetian, who will celebrate his 30th birthday this fall, before demonstrating the highest ambitions: “My goal is to win the World Endurance Championship and to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans (he counts 4th place as his best result, it was in 2012, Editor's note). I don’t want to rest on Porsche’s glorious past, I want to add a new chapter to it.”
