Ferdinand Habsburg launches a new project for the 2023 season of WEC. The Austrian, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the LM P2 category of the endurance world championship in 2021, revealed Rebel Team. The unique thing about this new team is that it will be owned and run by the fans.

Rebel Team will thus have a new sponsorship model where racing fans will be able to finance the team and have a say in important team decisions. The project will operate through an exclusive membership program. Fans who purchase a pass will have access to virtual and real experiences. 10 unique passes will be available, starting at €000.

Fans will be able to decide the composition of the team

Rebel Team members will be able to choose the livery of the LM P2 of the team which will participate in the WEC in 2023, the car number and the teammates of Ferdinand Habsburg. They will also be able to participate in virtual racing events against professional drivers, enjoy a VIP experience at events, including hospitality at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and exclusive team events.

“I want to return their support to the fans by opening the door to a world inaccessible to most, explains the Austrian pilot. Those who dreamed of being involved in motorsport can now make big decisions and see them come to life at an affordable price. I want to create a community using all virtual platforms but also meet them in real life at racing events or exclusive team gatherings. As we have seen many examples in all areas of motorsport, “cash is king” and often money trumps talent. By joining the community, fans can decide driver lineups based solely on talent, allowing experienced drivers who are short on funds to secure a free spot on a top WEC team. » Champion with WRT in 2021, Ferdinand Habsburg's new team will benefit from the support of the Belgian team in competition.

More details will be revealed before the 6 Hours of Fuji race in September.
