Filipe Albuquerque returns for a seventh year with United Autosports. The Portuguese will continue in the WEC with the team in 2023.

Filipe Albuquerque continues at United Autosports in 2023

The adventure continues between Filipe Albuquerque and United Autosports. The Anglo-American team has announced the extension of its faithful driver for the 2023 season of WEC. This will be the seventh consecutive year for the Portuguese with Richard Dean's team. A successful association in the LM P2 category, with a category victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2020 and the championship victory in the 2019-2020 super-season.

“I am very pleased to re-sign with United for another WEC campaign with the unsurprising aim of repeating our championship victory from 2019-2020, commented the Lusitanian. I never imagined I would be driving for the same team for this long, but it has been an absolute pleasure to work with Richard (Dean), Zak (Brown), the engineers and the whole team. I can't wait to start this new season! »

Filipe Albuquerque is also linked with Acura for the American manufacturer's LMDh program. If the competition debut of the American Hypercar is planned for the 24 2023 Hours of Daytona, participation in the Centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is not yet certain. If the arrival of Acura in Sarthe is postponed until 2024, the native of Coimbra will participate in the Le Mans classic with United Autosports. It will also run in IMSA with Wayne Taylor Racing in the GTP category in 2023.
