H+19: the #5 Toyota keeps the advantage

Sébastien Buemi continues to lead the race at Le Mans five hours from the finish at the wheel of the Toyota No. 5. The Swiss has a lead of 23 seconds over the sister car led by Mike conway who nevertheless remained in the lead for a good part of the event. The latter is fighting with the Porsche n°2 by Marc Lieb who came within a handful of seconds. The Audi R18s still complete the top five ahead of the 919 Hybrid n°1 of Brendon Hartley.

Gustavo Menezes took over on theAlpine No. 36 still well established at the head of LMP2, but the Signatech team is under investigation for a stoppage which could be illegal. The concern is all the greater as the No. 26 Oreca of René Rast's G-Drive Racing is two minutes from the head of the category. The Gibson 015S of Strakka Racing entrusted to Jonny Kane took third place from the BR01 n°37 of SMP entrusted to Viktor Shaytar.

The No. 82 Ferrari of Risi Competizione may still lead the GTE Pro, but the Ford threat is becoming more and more pressing since the No. 68 of Dirk Müller has come within a few seconds of Matteo Malucelli. The #69 of Ryan Briscoe is still present as reinforcement in third position ahead of the #95 Vantage of Marco Sorensen which precedes the #66 of Stefan Mücke. The #62 Ferrari of the Team Corsa remains in the lead of GTE Am, Townsend Bell having replaced William Sweedler.
