H+2: Porsche and Audi in a duel

Porsche and Audi remain in the fight for the lead of the race after two hours in Mexico. Mark Webber (Porsche no. 1) was followed by Lucas di Grassi (Audi no. 8) for several laps before giving in to the Brazilian before the second pit stop. The 919 Hybrid now driven by Timo Bernhard came out four seconds ahead of the R18 entrusted to Loïc duval.

Neel Jani (Porsche n°2) completes the leading trio around fifteen seconds ahead of Mike conway (Toyota). The #7 Audi slipped to fifth place following a tire problem. Marcel Fässler is now in charge.

Mike Conway's No. 6 Toyota remains in ambush, but the No. 5 sister car of Kazuki Nakajima fell in the standings after entering the garage.

The race was marked by Viktor Shaytar going off the track in the #01 SMP Racing BR37, which caused a Full Course Yellow.

Roman Rusinov led the LMP2s at the wheel of the G-Drive Oreca 05, being chased by Ricardo Gonzalez in the RGR Sport by Morand Ligier JS P2, while Gustavo Menezes completed the leading trio on theAlpine A460 n°36. But the two category leaders collided, sending the Mexican into a spin.

The Aston Martin are leading the GTE Pro with the #95 Vantage of Marco Sorensen ahead of the #97 of Darren Turner. Harry Tincknell is third in the #67 Ford GT. Khaled Al Qubaisi leads in GTE Am in the Abu Dhabi Proton Racing 911 RSR.
