H9: Peugeot starts the night in the lead

La Peugeot No. 9 is the only one not to have experienced problems requiring long pit stops: this is the main reason why she finds herself in the lead, a few minutes before the change of day. The Wurz-Gene-Brabham trio, located at the start behind the team?s two other cars, had an uneventful race. Unlike the No. 7, hit by the Peugeot from Pescarolo, and the No. 8, which stopped twice at the pit for quite a long time.

The results are much less good at Audi. The blow is tough for the German team, which thought it had kept a lot of performance in reserve during qualifying. A mistake by Lucas Luhr sent the #15 R2 into the wall, destroying its rear axle. And the No. 3 was not spared from problems, notably spending more than two hours in the pits to repair a fuel pressure problem. No. 1 therefore remains the only one capable of winning.

In LMP2, the Porsche RS Spyder maintains its leadership, demonstrating its good performance. But this is not the case for all Porsches. The n°5 of Navi Team Goh accumulates problems and enters its pits several times, while in GT2, the n°70 of?Imsa Performance must give up. The GT2 ranking is then dominated by the Ferrari. The #430 and #82 F92s lead the way, with the Porsche 997 from the Imsa Performance Matmu team remaining close.
In GT1, only three cars are now fighting: the two C6Rs from Corvette Racing and that of the second team from Luc Alphand Aventures.
