Hisatake Murata appointed President of Toyota Gazoo Racing

Hisatake Murata fait partie de la famille Toyota depuis 1987. Il était jusqu’à aujourd’hui responsable du développement du bloc hybride de Toyota et ce depuis ses débuts en 2006. Il est impliqué dans le championnat WEC since 2012 and the arrival of the manufacturer.

From today, he holds the position of President of the WEC Toyota Gazoo Racing team as well as President of Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG) thus becoming one of the strong men of the Japanese brand with Rob Leupen and Pascal Vasselon .

« I am proud to take on this new role at TMG, comments Murata. Since the start of our hybrid LMP1 project, I have built a long relationship with the members of TMG and I look forward to strengthening its working ties so that we can achieve success in all possible areas. »

He replaces Toshio Sato, in place since April 2015. He will occupy a key position at Toyota Motor Corporation at the powertrain level.
