Hypercar: Mick Schumacher drove theAlpine A424 to Jérez

L'Alpine A424 is on track for three days in Jérez this week.

It was a open secret, it is now confirmed: Mick Schumacher, before flying to the Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin, where he serves as reserve driver Mercedes F1 Team, was in Jérez (Spain) to discover the piloting of theAlpine A424. The French Hypercar is currently in full development, stringing together sessions at a breakneck pace in order to be operational before the Prologue of the World Championship.Endurance, at the end of February 2024, in Qatar.

Until then, it will also be necessary to approve the car, in the coming weeks, and lock in the crews.

As revealed in our edition of October 4, 2023 (AH n°2432), and since confirmed by Bruno Famin, director ofAlpine Racing, Mick Schumacher had a test run in the prototype dressed in blue for the occasion. It's always nicer to document this day which could be historic.

Nothing has yet been signed for the future, with both parties still having to think about the follow-up to this test, but the arrival of the German driver would be a great adventure that would satisfy the fans.

During this day of October 17, Nicolas lapierre was also requisitioned to rack up the kilometers and guide Mick Schumacher in his learning.
