Jan Magnussen moves up to LMP2 with High Class

Engaged in IMSA with Corvette until 2019 and participating in some rounds of the WEC in 2020 including 24 Hours of Le Mans in GTE Am with JMW Motorsport, Jan Magnussen will begin a new stage in his already long endurance career.

As of 2021, Kevin's father, current driver Haas en Formula 1, will participate full-time in the world endurance championship in the LMP2 category with High Class Racing. “ I am very happy to be part of High Class Racing's WEC program which includes the 24 2021 Hours of Le Mans. This is a project we have been working on for a long time and it is great to achieve it with a Danish team ».

And yes Denmark is in the spotlight at High Class Racing. In addition to being from the Scandinavian country, the team will enter a trio of Danish drivers. Jan Magnussen will be supported by Anders Fjordbach and Dennis Andersen next year.

In 2021, Jan Magnussen will compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a prototype for the first time since 2003. That year, the Dane took part in the Le Mans double-lap with Team Goh's Audi R8.

« Finding the prototypes is a very interesting new step in my career, underlines the main person concerned. LMP2 has become a very tough category with incredible cars and very strong teams. This is the only class with which I have never participated in Le Mans ».

As a reminder, Jan Magnussen was due to start the 24 2020 Hours of Le Mans in LMP2 with High Class Racing but the team's second car withdrew. He finally took part in GTE Am with a Ferrari 488 GTE from JMW Motorsport.
