Jüttner: “Avoid unpleasant surprises”

As Technical Director of Audi Sport Team Joest, what do you think of this test day?
The test day was abandoned for economic reasons two years ago. I'm delighted it's back on the calendar. This allows the teams to avoid unpleasant surprises that could have been encountered in June. Previously (from 2005 to 2008, editor's note), this event took place two weeks before the event. It was not possible to make many changes. Now there is more time to react.

Sunday, we won't talk about time. What benefit can Audi get from this day?
We're going to go over a lot of things. The circuit is unique, and is not a permanent track. Each kilometer traveled will be worth its weight in gold. According to the regulations, we are obliged to present only one car. However, we will test all three R18s. We will complete a different program with each of them, with the aim of learning as much as possible regarding aerodynamics, tires, set-up and others.

Will it be impossible to prevent chronometric comparisons?
Only the teams know what they are testing. This could be an opportunity for a first comparison, but we will only see the real performance of each in June?
