Kubica cancels his commitment with ByKolles Racing

Robert Kubica will not be at the start of the 6 Hours of Silverstone this weekend nor at the other rounds of the WEC. The Pole announced his withdrawal from the 2017 World Championship season.Endurance where he was to make his debut on the ByKolles Racing CLM01/P1.

“After the Prologue, I decided to interrupt my program with ByKolles Racing in LMP1, announced Robert Kubica. I will therefore not compete in the Silverstone event and the other rounds of the WEC. It was a difficult decision to give up and lose the opportunity to compete in such a tough Championship, but I hope it will not be a goodbye. »

Robert Kubica was to race in the CLM01/P1, the only private LMP1 on the 2017 WEC grid, alongside Oliver Webb. The Pole was present at the Prologue in Monza (Italy), but the car did not take to the track.

This further reinforces concerns about the future of ByKolles Racing likely to be forfeited after the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 17-18).
