Decked out in the livery using the colors of the temporary war paint seen earlier in the year at the time of the reveal of the car RB15 Red Bull Racing, theAston Martin Valkyrie performed its first dynamic demonstration this Saturday on the sidelines of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

The car with more than 1000 hp, developed by Aston Martin in collaboration with Red Bull Advanced Technologies, was entrusted to Chris Goodwin, high performance test driver for the Gaydon brand.

A run which will precede more important tests before the scheduled deliveries of 150 examples for the last quarter of 2019 to happy and wealthy Aston Martin customers.

“Seeing the Aston Martin Valkyrie in action today, five years after I started sketching what it could look like, is very moving, admits Adrian Newey, father of the car and technical manager of Red Bull Racing.

With the viewing angles changing as the lap goes on, plus the noise, the car is now doing what it's intended to do, which is move and be dynamic. The team made a huge effort to get her racing here today, so it’s a special moment for her. »

If the production car could not be more desirable, motorsport fans are impatiently awaiting the Hypercar version meeting the said technical regulations promoted by the ACO and the WEC for the 2020-2021 season, Aston Martin having confirmed on the sidelines of 24 Hours of Le Mans its presence in the category.

“Today is a milestone in the history of Aston Martin and our industry as a whole, comments Aston Martin boss Andy Palmer.

The Valkyrie continues to redefine what you and I recognize as a hypercar, with unparalleled performance in a package technologically superior to anything else out there.

Although Chris' demonstration today was not accomplished at full speed, I am sure the Valkyrie will return as soon as possible to exploit its full potential around this magnificent circuit. »

The Hypercar version will obviously be different from the road car aerodynamically, the beast still having to be powered by the naturally aspirated 12-liter V6,5, without us yet knowing whether hybridization will be on the menu.
