Isotta Fraschini Milano unveiled its Hypercar on Tuesday February 28. From Milan, the Italian manufacturer unveiled an LMH with a livery composed of blue, white and red as well as the number 11. Not admitted for WEC and 24 Hours of Le Mans this year, IFM hopes to be there in 2024. The operating team in competition will be Vector Sport, which is preparing to compete in its second season in the LM P2 category of the WEC with, in particular, the Frenchman Gabriel Aubry. A debut at the senior level mid-2023 season is hoped for.

« Today we are exactly where we predicted 4 months ago, when we announced that the Isotta Fraschini brand would return and that it would do so, according to tradition, with a racing car, says Claudio Berro, director of Isotta Fraschini Motosport. The Tipo 6 LMH Competizione is now in its complete and real configuration and the intentions for the 2023 season remain those of participating in the 2023 WEC championship in a “race by race” formula, as soon as the car is homologated by the FIA. In the meantime, we will accumulate the kilometers with the Vector Sport team to be ready as soon as possible. »

Isotta Fraschini Milano also announced that examples of its Hypercar will be available to customer teams. At the same time, a “Pista” version will be reserved for customers who want to enjoy the Tipo 6 on different circuits without competing with each other. They will be able to do it alone or during events with other owners of this Hypercar. Finally, there will be the “Strada” version, aimed at customers who want it for their personal collection or for walking down the street in all countries where it will be allowed to circulate freely. The price of the car will start at 2 euros, excluding taxes.

The Competizione version is designed to participate in global endurance races. This four-wheel-drive hybrid hypercar has electric power delivered through the front axle, while at the rear sits a mid-mounted, 6° turbocharged, direct-injected 3-liter V90 engine. This engine was designed in collaboration with the Germans at HWA and Michelotto Engineering, but the intellectual property belongs to Isotta Franchini. In this version, the maximum power is limited to 700 HP, while the front electric motor develops a power of 270 HP. The total weight of the car is 1000 kg.

Aerodynamically, the car was developed in the wind tunnel of Williams in Great Britain. The chassis and bodywork were entirely designed by Isotta Fraschini and produced by ARS Technologies. Other key components are supplied by important project partners such as Brembo (brakes), PWR (cooling system), Multimatic (suspension), XTrac (gearbox), Williams (battery system), Pankl (transmission) and Bosch (electronics).

Too typical LMP1 at the front however the shark fin is quite well done. From the side it doesn't look like a van like other LmhLmDhGTP...
