MissionH24 reaches a milestone

150 kilos less. The Hydrogen prototype designed by H24 Racing has undergone a significant slimming treatment in recent months. Presented on Friday at the ACO press conference, the new H24 car no longer has much to do with the LMPH2G.

The second version of the Mission H24 car results from two years of testing and two participations in Michelin Le Mans Cup in the hands of Norman Nato, the development driver.

The look of the car is much more aggressive. Its shapes reflect the gains obtained: increased aerodynamic performance and better cooling for the propulsion system.

Mechanically, the H24 also reaches a milestone. GreenGT has designed and developed a new powertrain whose heart, the electric-hydrogen generator, equipped with new Symbio bipolar plates, offers increased performance. The new battery, equipped with Saft cells used in Formula 1, stores and delivers more energy. The number of electric motors goes from four to two, which run twice as fast and can deliver greater power while offering a very substantial weight saving.

The whole thing is completed by a new gearbox – more precisely a reduction gear – more compact and lighter than the previous one and an electronic braking system.

The H24 should run in competition from 2021.
