This meeting at Sebring Raceway had a particular taste for NASCAR Garage 56 and Hendrick Motorsports. It was in fact the last major rehearsal before his participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2023 on June 10 and 11.

On site Monday and Tuesday, Jimmie Johnson, Mike Rockenfeller and Jenson Button, the drivers chosen for the double round of the clock, had the privilege of leading this final training session at the wheel of the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. All under the watchful eye of their driver trainer Jordan Taylor who was also entitled to a few laps on the Florida track.

In addition to the sequence of laps, this last appearance of the Camaro on American soil allowed the drivers and teams to resolve any technical problems encountered on the track, to practice pit stops but also driver changes.

« I feel really good, told Jimmie Johnson at the end of these two days of testing at Sebring. We've put in a lot of hours, a lot of work, and I feel like we're in a really good place. It was a great test. We worked on the little details, like the color of the buttons on the steering wheel or the black light inside the car, which is strong enough so that we can see the buttons and press them at the right time."

NASCAR and Hendrick Motorsports now have a few weeks ahead of them to make the final adjustments before the Chevrolet Camaro hits the asphalt at Le Mans next June!
