Team Project 1 Porsche loses GTE Am pole

The smiles in the Team Project 1 team quickly disappeared on Saturday evening in Fuji (Japan). Initially classified in pole position in the GTE Am class, the Porsche 911 RSR n°57 was decommissioned after the technical inspection.

The commissioners of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) have in fact noted the absence of one of the side door fixings. As the condition of the car was no longer in line with the initial approval, all the times achieved during qualifying by the three Porsche drivers were canceled.

Thus, Ben Keating, Felipe Fraga and Jeroen Bleekemolen will be forced to start from 30th place on Sunday at the start of the 6 Hours of Fuji, second round of the 2019-20 WEC season. The pole goes toAston Martin Vantage from the TF Sport team (Adam-Yoluc-Eastwood).
