Competing in LM P2 with G-Drive Racing, Briton Sam Bird confided to AUTOhebdo in Austin about his desires for LM P1 for the rest of his career.

The LM P1 in Sam Bird’s sights

After F3, the GP2 Series and the FR 3.5, the British Sam bird reoriented his career towards the world ofEndurance. A new discipline discovered last year on the other side of the Atlantic, before landing today within G-Drive Racing in LM P2 in WEC.

If the native of Roehampton is still evolving car en Formula e, with the new entity DS Virgin Racing alongside Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne, the recent winner of the 6 Hours of the Circuit of the Americas in LM P2 admits no regrets regarding his dreams of F1.

“I did everything I could with the budget I had and I took every opportunity that came my way. But without a suitcase worth 10 to 15 million euros, I couldn't get a seat. That's how F1 is today. It annoyed me, frustrated me but I have no regrets? the 28-year-old pilot told us.

I feel really good and I hope settle into Endurance for a long time. The objective now is to have a good second season in Formula e, to win the WEC title, and to join, next year, the ranks of a major manufacturer. »
