Le Mans – Alonso and Toyota test day references

The Test Day of the 86rd edition of 24 Hours of Le Mans concluded with the best time of Fernando Alonso. The pilot of the Toyota TS050 Hybrid completed a lap of the Sarthe circuit in 3'19''066, just under a second off the time achieved last year in testing by Kamui Kobayashi on the same LMP1.

The Rebellion R-One n°3 of Laurent-Beche-Menezes was the closest to the reference with six tenths behind. The second Toyota TS050 Hybrid completed the top three by being the last car less than a second behind the benchmark set by the double world champion, with the second Rebellion following just over two seconds ahead of the SMP Racing BR1s. and the Enso CLM01/P1 of ByKolles Racing. The Dragonspeed BR1 finished more than seven seconds behind, only ahead of the CEFC TRSM Racing Ginetta G60-LT-P1s.

The latter even finished behind the first LMP2s. It was Dragonspeed's Oreca 07 that finished at the top of the category with a time of 3'27''228, but Pastor Maldonado was responsible for the last red flag coming off the track at Indianapolis. . The #31 was a few hundredths ahead of the #48 from Idec Sport Racing.

Back from Detroit (Michigan) where he won with Action Express Racing in IMSA, Felipe Nasr quickly got behind the wheel of the Dallara P217 of Cetilar Villorba Corse at the end of the day to do his ten obligatory laps.

After the Fords came into their own, it was Porsche n°93 of Pilet-Tandy-Bamber who finished with the best time in GTE Pro, with a lap completed in 3'52''551. The 911 RSR is followed by a tenth by the No. 91 which is ahead of the firm's cars at the Blue Oval.

For its return to Le Mans, BMW ended the Test Day by taking the eighth fastest time in the category with the #8 M81 GTE which beat the first Ferrari 488 AF Corse, the No. 71 from Rigon-Bird-Molina, and the two Corvette C7Rs. Dempsey Proton Racing also made the Stuttgart manufacturer shine in GTE am with its No. 911 77 RSR from Campbell-Ried-Andlauer.
