Le Mans – Crash of Audi n°3 and Toyota n°8

While a violent downpour occurred on the track, the 24 Hours of Le Mans deliver their first dramatic twist. Nicolas lapierre (Toyota n°8) and Marco Bonanomi (Audi n°3) who were fighting for third place ended up in the rails for a reason still unknown, perhaps due to a Porsche 911 RSR which was in difficulty. The clash also involved the Ferrari n°81 AF Corse of Sam Bird who was at the head of the GTE Am! The safety car entered the track.

While the second hour of racing has not been reached, the race is already short of three candidates for victory, the No. 14 Porsche having lost around ten minutes following a fuel pressure problem. Nicolas Lapierre was able to return to the pits but the #18 R3 retired.
