Le Mans – H14: Fire on Toyota n°7, Tréluyer in the lead

A dramatic turn of events at Le Mans with the stopping of the No. 7 Toyota, the victim of a fire at Arnage. Kazuki Nakajima was forced to stop. The No. 2 Audi of Benoît Tréluyer took the lead.

Le Mans – H14: Fire on Toyota n°7, Tréluyer in the lead

While the situation seemed under control for the Toyota n°7, leader since the start of this 82nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a fire started on the car Kazuki Nakajima shortly before 5 a.m., ruined the hopes of the Japanese brand. Immobilized shortly after Arnage, the leading car was brought to safety behind the barriers and saw the No. 2 Audi of Benoît Tréluyer take control of the race for the first time in front of the Porsche n ° 20 of Brendon Hartley and the Audi n°1 of Lucas di Grassi.

In the other categories no major upheavals, except in GTE Pro, the stop of the No. 74 Corvette which had to change its brakes, which required the car to be immobilized in the box for several minutes . L'Aston Martin of Tuner dominates the category while in LM P2, Oak Racing and the #2 Ligier JS P35 are still in the lead, as is the #95 Aston Martin in GTE Am.
