Le Mans – Jackie Chan DC Racing believed in overall victory

The good performances of the LMP2s and the misfortunes of the LMP1s offered a surprising result in the 85th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The #07 Oreca 38 of Jackie Chan DC Racing operated by Jota Sport and entrusted to Thomas Laurent, Ho-Pin Tung et OIiver Jarvis s’est retrouvée en tête de la course dans la matinée suite à l’abandon de la Porsche n°1 de Lotterer-Jani-Tandy et a conservé les commandes de l’épreuve jusqu’à la dernière heure face à la 919 Hybrid n°2 de Bamber-Hartley-Bernhard qui s’est finalement imposée.

The LMP2 crew could hope to reach the finish as winner of the general classification by banking on interruptions in the race which would slow down the recovery of the Porsche n°2, but the end of the event was much smoother than in the first hours.

“It’s a dream come true. We even believed we could win the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the general classification, admitted Oliver Jarvis at a press conference. Despite everything, we are very proud of our performance. This is my best result despite five starts with Audi (three 3rd places in 2012, 2013 and 2016). Jackie Chan DC Racing is a truly amazing structure. It reminds me of the Audi team, but less developed. »

His teammate Thomas Laurent played a big part in the Jackie Chan DC Racing result, the rookie completing some very efficient stints at the wheel of the Oreca 07.

“I made a slight mistake at the start of my first stint which calmed me down afterwards, underlined with modesty Thomas Laurent. I was confident that my teammates would be able to get the car back to the front and that we could then maintain our advantage. »
