Le Mans: Lotus enters LM P2

Lotus is everywhere. F1, IndyCar,GP2? And now LM P2. After testing the waters last year with Evoras entered by the Austrian Jetalliance team, Lotus returns to Sarthe with a prototype. Subject to acceptance by the ACO. (the ACO press conference, announcing the list of guests and to follow on autohebdo.fr, will be held Thursday February 2). Lotus is an assumed name, because the car will be entered by Kodewa, the team of Colin Kolles (the former main team of HRT in F1, present at Le Mans recently, notably with Audi R10 TDIs), and the engines will be prepared by Engine Development, the structure which also develops the brand's turbo V6s in IndyCar.

The black and gold livery will therefore be back in Sarthe. “ This is a very exciting step for us, confided Claudio Berro, director of the Motorsport branch of Lotus Group. We have never hidden our intentions to enter LM P2 this year, but we had to look at it from a good perspective and we are happy with the links with our partners. More than anything else, we are looking forward to our return to Le Mans after the success we had with our Evoras last year. Engine development is going well but there is still a lot to do in the coming weeks to ensure the car is ready for the intensive testing program that awaits us. »
