Le Mans – Michelin presents the intermediate tire… slick!

Michelin has just left its mark on the history of tires by presenting a "hybrid" product, an "intermediate slick" for LMP1, thus replacing the traditional "sculpted intermediate", and allowing driving on a track tending to become dry, including on damp areas.
This creation is the result of the development work carried out by French engineers on the windows of use of the tires, that is to say on the temperature ranges and on the conditions of the track. Thanks to the use of new materials as well as new architectures, they have increased the versatility of each type of tire from year to year. The fruit of this work is a MICHELIN range Endurance 2012 which now goes beyond the classic notion of “soft”, “medium” and “hard” tires to introduce equipment “by temperature range”.

The year 2012 is full of new products from Michelin, the French manufacturer also being very involved in the Nissan DeltaWing program by having developed a very narrow tire ensuring grip and endurance having nothing to envy of tires of traditional dimensions.
