Le Mans – Porsche leads the Test Day

Taking advantage of a dry track at the start of the afternoon, Brendon Hartley signed the best time of the Test Day of 24 Hours of Le Mans driving the Porsche n°17 qui a bouclé un tour en 3’21 »061. C’est 7 dixièmes de mieux que la pole réalisée par Kazuki Nakajima. The 919 Hybrid n°19 of Hulkenberg-Bamber-Tandy follows more than a second ahead of two Audis, the No. 18 R7 e-tron quattro of Lotterer-Tréluyer-Fässler preceding the No. 8 of di Grassi-Duval-Jarvis.

The Toyota sont restées en dehors du top 6 even if most of the session was contested on a wet track. The Nissans remained discreet with only a few laps completed this afternoon, the Japanese manufacturer encountering electrical problems on its LMP1s. The Rebellion also toured little.

Karun Chandhok set the LMP2 benchmark time with a time of 3'42"405 at the wheel of the Murphy Prototypes Oreca 03R. The Indian was almost a second ahead of the No. 05 Oreca 46 of Thiriet by TDS Racing driven by Thiriet-Gommendy-Badey. Laurens Vanthoor achieved the best time of the day with a lap completed in 3'41"919 in the No. 2 Oak Racing Ligier JS P34.

Aston Martin distinguished himself in his two categories. It's the #97 Vantage that leads the GTE Pro with a time of 3'58"069 set by Darren Turner. The No. 98 led by Pedro Lamy leads the GTE Am. The first LMP3 moved in 3'58 with Charlie Robertson.
