Audi unveils the livery of its 18 R2015

The livery of the Audi R18 e-tron quattro 2015 version was unveiled this Thursday during a presentation of the 2015 Audi Sport season at the Neuburg premises in Germany. The LM P1 prototype of the firm with the rings, victorious last year at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a été l’objet de toutes les attentions durant l’inter-saison pour pouvoir rivaliser cette saison avec ses deux grandes rivales Toyota TS040 Hybrid et Porsche 919 Hybrid.

As we explained it to you in issue 2002 of AUTOhebdo, the R18 e-tron quattro, which was recently tested in Sebring and Florida, has undergone optimization on several levels. Reworked nose, new design of the engine cover are among the new exterior features. The hybrid system (flywheel) has been retained, but Audi could move up one ERS class in 2015, to that of the 4MJ. As for the drivers, the crews had already been announced, with the trios Tréluyer – Fässler – Lotterer and Duval – di Grassi – Jarvis full-time in WEC, joined by Bonanomi – Rast – Albuquerque at Spa and Le Mans.

Audi will reunite with Toyota and Porsche (Nissan having postponed its debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans until next June), during the WEC Prologue, on March 27 and 28 at Paul Ricard in the Var.
