The WEC decides to no longer present “grid girls”

Here is a decision that risks dividing fans of the discipline. Gérard Neveu, director of WEC, announced to Reuters agency which “grid girls” would disappear from discipline tests from the 2015 season.

“This will be applied in all races starting at Silverstone (Great Britain) next week. There will be no more “grid girls” as was the case in the past.”, commented Gérard Neveu following the presentation of the 6 Hours of Silverstone. “For me, it’s a thing of the past. The condition of women is now a little different. »

A precursor and avant-garde in its regulations and its approach to competition, the WEC is taking a new step which could quickly be taken up by other Championships.
