The Automobile Club de l'Ouest announced Monday that the 24 hours of Le Mans 2020, scheduled for September 19 and 20, will be held behind closed doors. Until now, the ticket office was frozen but spectators who had already reserved their tickets before the pandemic could come, with significant restriction measures.
The latest version provided for spectators to remain in a given sector without crossing paths. « However, given the uncertainty surrounding the development of the situation, the ACO and the Sarthe Prefecture have decided that the event will take place without spectators. » specifies the ACO.

The decision was difficult to make. « The 88th 24 Hours of Le Mans will go down in the annals of history as, unfortunately, the only one without spectators. Over the last few weeks, we have looked at all possibilities to welcome the public in complete safety” explains Pierre Fillon, president of the ACO. " But there was too many health and safety questions. »
Ticket holders will be contacted for their refund.
