Porsche crews at the 24 Hours of Le Mans

As has been the case over the past two years, the Zuffenhausen firm will field four 911 RSR-19s in GTE Pro at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 13-14). “ The entry of four cars in GTE Pro highlights the importance of this classic for Porsche, insists Fritz Enzinger, vice-president of Porsche Motorsport. With our teams from WEC and IMSA, we will be able to rely on a group of experts and on crews that perfectly combine experience and youth. »

The No. 91 and No. 92 are a continuation since the titular duos in the WEC: Richard Lietz-Gianmaria Bruni and Kévin Estre-Michael Christensen will be supported respectively by Frédéric Makowiecki and Laurens Vanthoor. As a reminder, these two cars are operated by Manthey Racing.

On the two examples incubated by Core Autosport, however, there is a change. On the No. 93, we will find Earl Bamber and Nick Tandy – who are competing in the entire IMSA, who will be accompanied by the Australian Matt Campbell, inducted as official driver of the brand last December.

No. 94 will be entrusted to a 100% French trio. Leader, Patrick Pilet will share the wheel with Mathieu Jaminet and Julien Andlauer, two drivers he “coached” when they competed in the Carrera Cup France.

« I have been supporting Mathieu and Julien for some time and have developed close ties with them, underlines Pilet. It is an honor and a pleasure for me to share the cockpit of Le Mans with these two talented young drivers. Together, we will try to win the raceEndurance the most prestigious in the world. »

« We will go to Le Mans with a reliable and fast car, and fast and experienced crews, says Pascal Zurlinden, director of official sports programs for the German firm. With this value package, we intend to fight for victory. »

And so for a 109e class victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
