The 24 Hours of Le Mans are approaching, and if several manufacturers will return to the Le Mans route for the Centenary edition, others will present their new horses on this same occasion. This will be the case for Ford with its new Mustang GT3, but above allAlpine which will lift the veil on its future LMDh, which should be engaged in WEC in 2024. The next French Hypercar – whose name is still unknown – has been teased by the mark with the A arrow on Wednesday and will be presented on June 9 at Le Mans.

Obviously, the wait around the Dieppe firm is growing as the days go by. This Friday, while the technical checks took place at Le Mans for the traditional weighing day, the voice of the 24 Hours Bruno Vandestick could not resist the temptation to ask Nicolas lapierre some little information about theAlpine Hypercar. The French driver is entered this year with his own COOL Racing team in LM P2 and is participating in the development of the future LMDh tricolor.

“I don't know if I'll be the first in there, but it's quite possible. It’s a beautiful achievement, a beautiful project that comes to life, underlines Nicolas Lapierre. It was a lot of development and design work and at the moment, the teams of Viruses-Châtillon are working hard to make a beautiful car. I think you will all be pleasantly surprised on Friday (presentation of theAlpine LMDh at Le Mans, editor's note.) when you see the lines and shapes of this magnificent car. »

Stone " looking forward to June 2024”

The French pilot, who notably participated in the adventure Alpine in Hypercar in 2021 and 2022, also expressed his pride in taking part in the project. “I am very happy first of all to take part in the development. It's really a great story for Philippe Sinault (director of Signatech) and his teams to return to the premier category at a time when there are so many manufacturers present, especially with a car that will have the potential to fight up front. It’s also a great story for the brand Alpine, it means a lot to the fans. I can't wait until June next year. »

As a reminder, the future Alpine Hypercar will be based on the LMDh technical regulations with an Oreca chassis and a thermal engine that will be specific to it. The stylistic code should broadly reflect the concept car Alpine Alpenglow, presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 2022.
