As mentioned in our columns (see Ah n°2260 available here in digital version), the postponement of the 88th edition of 24 Hours of Le Mans – scheduled for June 13 and 14 – for the weekend of September 19-20 is not without consequences.

Firstly, it led to the Test Day being canceled outright. Furthermore, the night will be longer and the temperatures cooler, which will have an effect on the range of tires chosen and their temperature setting. Indeed, if we look at nautical twilight (sun lowered between 6° and 12° below the horizon, which corresponds to the appearance of the stars), from 4:42 a.m. between June 13 and 14, the night will be 9h25 long between September 19 and 20.
Finally, the decision was made to bring forward the start of the race by 1 hours, so that the first hours would take place during the day, with sunset scheduled for 30:20 p.m. (compared to 02:21 p.m. on June 59). It will therefore be given at 13:14 p.m.
