Nürburgring-H+5: The No. 919 Porsche 1 sees victory

Drama at the Nürburgring. So at the head of the race, la Porsche 919 Hybrid n°2 de Marc Lieb had made contact 1h50 from the finish with the Abu Dhabi – Proton Racing Porsche 911 RSR, causing the fourth Full Course Yellow of the German event.

Porsche mechanics replaced the hood on the LM P1 when Neel Jani took over from Marc Lieb. The Swiss, left in the wake of Mark Webber's sister car, had finally regained his property, but the No. 2 was penalized with a drive-through for the collision, a sanction which returned first place to the No. 1.

Neel Jani observed this penalty and returned to third position behind the No. 18 Audi R8 of Loïc duval. After a few laps, Jani, also hampered by a car damaged after contact with an LM P2, saw the second No. 18 R7 of André Lotterer return who took third place after a virile struggle.

A plus d’un tour, la Toyota TS050 Hybrid n°5 pointe en cinquième position. La seconde LM P1 japonaise reste sixième au classement, après un arrêt aux stands pour remédier à une perte de pression sur le turbo gauche du V6.

THEAlpine A460 n°36, piloted by Nicolas lapierre still dominates the LM P2 category with around 25 seconds ahead of the Ligier JS P2 of the RGR by Morand and the No. 05 Oreca 45 of the Manor team.

The fight remains open one hour from the finish in GTE Pro, since if la Ferrari 488 n°51 by Gianmaria Bruni and James Calado remains in the lead,Aston Martin Vantage n°95 of Thiim – Sorensen was only seven seconds behind the Italian GT. The second #488 71 from Bird – Rigon provisionally completes the podium ahead of the #66 Ford GT from Pla – Mücke.

Unchanged hierarchy at the top in GTE Am with the #98 Aston Martin Vantage of Dalla Lana – Lauda – Lamy at the helm of the category. The No. 911 KCMG Porsche 78 RSR retains second place ahead of the No. 7 Larbre Competition de Ragues – Yamagishi – Ruberti Corvette C50.R.
