Peugeot, from warriors to sprinters

At 43 years old, David Brabham is undoubtedly the most experienced Peugeot driver. Winner the previous two years in GT1, the Briton joined the French team this winter. In his career, he has experienced everything, including F1, like his two teammates, Marc Gene and Alexander Wurz. The three men form a complementary crew, which can meet any challenge. Olivier Quesnel even nicknames them “warriors”. By recruiting David Brabham, the boss of Peugeot Sport even saw it as a sign. “ His brother won the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a Peugeot (905, in 1993), it?s a symbol. »

Placed in fifth position on the grid, the Peugeot n°9 is certainly not the one we expect to see establish itself in the ranks of the lion team. Without saying it, Olivier Quesnel has almost established a hierarchy in his crews. In addition to the warriors, he nicknamed the three drivers of the No. 8, which took pole, the “sprinters”, and those of the No. 7, the “road-sprinters”. We can therefore see a desire to give every chance to the Sarrazin-Bourdais-Montagny so that he can be the fastest on the track. But, with three homogenous crews, the French team can hope to leverage its skills from one car to another. With its three 908 HDi FAPs in the first five places on the starting line, the team race will be essential for Peugeot.
