Peugeot presents its crews

Peugeot has chosen stability for the next 24 Hours of Le Mans. All the drivers called up drove the 908 HDI FAP last year, with the exception of Anthony Davidson, former Aston Martin driver, who replaces Sébastien Loeb.

Peugeot presents its crews

Peugeot Sport has put together three quality crews for the next 24 Hours of Le Mans, having returned almost all of the men from 2009 to their positions. No surprise then, except the absence of Sébastien Loeb, who everyone expected to see join the Lion cars this season. Faced with the immensity of its program in WRC, the Frenchman preferred to give up.

As in 2009, we will find a 100% French crew: Franck Montagny and Stéphane Sarrazin will still be associated but, this time, will be accompanied by Nicolas Minassian, in car no. 2.

The winners of the last edition, Alexander Wurz and Marc Gené, who arrived with the trophy during the Peugeot presentation, will team up with Anthony Davidson (908 n°1). Davidson, the first Briton to ride in the 908, “replaces” Sébastien Loeb. Former pilot of F1, he notably rode with Aston Martin during the 24 2009 Hours of Le Mans.

On the Peugeot 908 n°3, we find Sébastien Bourdais, second last year. The Frenchman will team up this year with simon pagenaud, who drove the 908 Pescarolo at the 24 2009 Hours of Le Mans, and Pedro Lamy.

Christian Klien, starter in 2009, is this time reserve driver for the Peugeot Total team. The Austrian, who wanted to find a seat in Formula 1, could therefore replace one of the nine starting drivers in the event of one of them withdrawing.

Absent this Monday in Paris during the Peugeot presentation, Anthony Davidson is currently on the Paul-Ricard circuit, in GT1 testing. Simon Pagenaud was not present either, also taking part in tests, with Highcroft (American LMS), in the United States.

Note that one of the three winners of the 2009 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, David Brabham, will not drive with Peugeot this year. The Australian, ALMS champion last year, will drive at Le Mans aboard an Acura LMP2 from the Highcroft team.
