Peugeot will partner with Rebellion for the Hypercar

Peugeot announced that its Hypercar program in WEC will be carried out as part of an association with Rebellion where the joint structure will use electrified hybrid traction chains. The technical team will define the main lines of the project from January 2020.

“Peugeot has written beautiful pages in the history of endurance with its gasoline and diesel engines, and we now want to open a new chapter with hybridization, comments Jean-Philippe Imperato, Automobiles Peugeot director. The announcement of our participation a few weeks ago sparked real enthusiasm. We are very happy about this, especially as this new sporting and energetic shift that we are going to take will accompany our launches of Peugeot Sport Engineered. I am even more convinced of this commitment as we are now allied with a major partner. Rebellion’s passion, perfection and Performance combine perfectly with Peugeot’s values: Demand, Allure and Emotion.”

“We are very happy to be able to partner with one of the major players in endurance, adds Jean-Marc Finot, director of PSA Motorsport. The expertise and know-how of Rebellion Racing in the WEC is a real asset to put together a strong team and approach 2022 in the best conditions. Their last victory in Shanghai illustrates this. The roles will be distributed according to our respective skills and we will all be based in Versailles-Satory. »

Peugeot will return to 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2023 after his sudden departure from the WEC just before the start of the 2012 season. The Lion has three victories in Sarthe, in 1992, 1993 and 2009.
