Porsche dominates qualifying in England

The 919 Hybrids dominated the first qualifying session of the year in the World Endurance Championship. Aston Martin distinguished itself in GTE.

Porsche dominates qualifying in England

The first qualifying session of the WEC 2015 highlighted Both Porsche 919 hybrid. The two German LM P1s set the pace on the British track at Silverstone, with the #17 driven by Mark Webber and Brendon Hartley who signed a better average over the two laps retained in 1'39″721. The second 919 n°18 of Romain Dumas and Neel Jani failed in 1'40″340 and was ahead of the first Audi R18 e-tron quattro n°8 of Oliver Jarvis and Lucas di Grassi. Kazuki Nakajima et Anthony Davidson placent la Toyota TS040 Hybrid n°1 en quatrième position devant l’Audi n°7 et la deuxième Toyota n°2.

In LM P2, G-Drive Racing continued its momentum in free practice by placing its two Ligier JS P2? Nissan at the forefront, the No. 28 of Derani? Gonzalez having dominated the No. 26 entrusted for these qualifications to Julien Canal and Sam Bird.

The GTE saw the domination of Aston Martin Vantage. In Pro, the n°95 of Marco Sørensen and Nicki Thiim who will be associated with Christopher Nygaard in the race tomorrow, was the fastest of the session. Rees's No. 99s? MacDowall? Stanaway and #97 of Darren Turner and Stefan Mücke complete the Aston hat-trick. Christensen's No. 911 Porsche 91 RSR? Lietz remains the closest to the British cars and is ahead of the Ferrari 458 Italia n°51 from the Bruni duo? Vilander.

In GTE Am, Dalla Lana's #98 Aston Martin? Lammy? Lauda signed pole position just ahead of the Chevrolet Corvette of Larbre Competition, entrusted to the Paolo Ruberti trio? Gianluca Roda? Kristian Poulsen.

The 6 Hours of Silverstone will begin tomorrow at 13 p.m. French time.
