Porsche maintains the advantage in EL2 at the Nürburgring

The Porsche 919 Hybrids beat the Toyota TS050 Hybrids in the second practice session for the 6 Hours of the Nürburgring. Brendon Hartley was fastest on the #2.

Porsche maintains the advantage in EL2 at the Nürburgring

Avec leurs kits forts appuis, les Porsche 919 Hybrid ont augmenté le rythme dans la deuxième séance d’essais des 6 Heures du Nürburgring (Allemagne) où la météo est devenue pluvieuse en fin de séance. Les essais ont été brièvement interrompus par un drapeau rouge en raison d’un photographe mal placé.

Brendon Hartley established the new benchmark with a time of 1'38''663 achieved in the victorious n°919 2 Hybrid in the last 24 Hours of Le Mans. The New Zealander was more than 9 tenths ahead of the No. 1 sister car driven by André Lotterer.

Anthony Davidson a placé la première Toyota à plus d’une seconde de la référence avec la TS050 Hybrid n°8. La n°7 pilotée par Kamui Kobayashi was classified almost 3 seconds behind the first Porsche.

In LMP2, it was Ben Hanley who set the new best time in the category with a lap completed in 1'47''188 at the wheel of the #26 G-Drive Racing car. Mathias Beche was the closest, 2 tenths behind the #13 Vaillante Rebellion. THE Alpine A470 by Gustavo Menezes and André negrao and the No. 25 CEFC Manor TRS Racing of Vitaly Petrov completed the LMP2 top five. The No. 31 Vaillante Rebellion entrusted to Albuquerque-Senna-Canal did not take to the track.

Frédéric Makowiecki placed the No. 911 91 RSR at the top of the GTE Pro with a time of 1:56, ahead of the leader by a tenth.Aston Martin n°95 by Nicki Thiim. The No. 66 Ford GT of Stefan Mücke completed the top three in the category ahead of the Ferrari AF Corse by Davide Rigon and James Calado. Miguel Molina was the fastest in GTE Am in the #488 Spirit of Race F54 GTE.

The final practice session for the 6 Hours of the Nürburgring will take place this Saturday July 15 from 9:45 a.m. Qualifying will follow at 14:55 p.m.
