Like he usually does, Porsche will equip its official 911 RSRs with specific liveries for 24 Hours of Le Mans 2020, disputed behind closed doors this week in Sarthe.
After the “Pink Pig” or the “Rothmans”, the two Weissach cars will wear colors commemorating the 50th anniversary of the first of the German firm’s 19 victories, won in 1970 by Richard Attwood and Hans Hermann with the 917.
This car displayed the colors of the Austrian flag, the red and white being used on the No. 91, entrusted to Gianmaria Bruni, Richard Lietz and Frédéric Makowiecki. The No. 92 of Kévin Estre, Michael Christensen and Laurens Vanthoor will see the red replaced by black.
Porsche will try to return to victory in the Sarthe, after having ceded its throne in GTE Pro to Ferrari last year. The last German success in Sarthe dates back to 2018 with the triumph of the Estre – Christensen – Vanthoor trio.
