Four official Porsche 911 RSRs at the 24 Hours of Le Mans

Like last year, Porsche will field two official 911 RSRs, operated by Team Manthey, in the GTE Pro category of the WEC. If the No. 92 will still be entrusted to the Dane Michael Christensen and the Frenchman Kévin Estre, the Austrian Richard Lietz changes teammates on the No. 91, the Italian Gianmaria Bruni making his appearance to the detriment of the Frenchman Frédéric Makowiecki, whose program is evolving significantly.

The latter will, however, be present at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he will support the Bruni-Lietz pair on the No. 91. On the No. 92, it is the Belgian Laurens Vanthoor who will come as reinforcement.

But the evening news concerns the number of official 911 RSRs that the Stuttgart firm plans to field in mid-June, since as expected, there should be four on the starting grid.

Operated by the Core Autosport team, which manages the program IMSA SportsCar Championship, the No. 93 and No. 94 will respectively be entrusted to the trios Earl Bamber-Patrick Pilet-Nick Tandy and Timo Bernhard-Romain Dumas-Sven Müller. Romain Dumas and Timo Bernhard are therefore once again partners, having won so much together, notably the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2010, the 24 Hours of Nürburgring on multiple occasions and even the 12 Hours of Sebring 2008 and the ALMS.

As a reminder, if the two 911 RSRs entered in the WEC are guaranteed to be there at Le Mans, the presence of the other two depends on the Selection Committee. But there should be no unpleasant surprises.
