Racing Team Nederland at Daytona and in the WEC

The LMP2 contingent at Daytona, for once, should prove worthy of interest. The latest team to officially join the dance is Racing Team Nederland, which will make its debut in Florida. “ It's no secret that we want to run in IMSA in the future, this will be a first step” said team boss Frits Van Eerd.

“Daytona will be more than a race for us, as it will serve as preparation for the FIA season WEC » Racing Team Nederland will compete in the entire world championship as in 2020, with a slightly reshuffled crew. Nyck de Vries will be replaced by Job Van Uitert alongside Van Eerd and Giedo Van der Garde. The Frenchman Charles Milesi already seen in LMP2 in WEC and in ELMS, will complete the crew at Daytona. “ Nick is now a reserve driver for Toyota who rides like us in the WEC. This means he could be promoted to the Toyota seat at any time and I hope he gets that chance » but Van Erd does not want to find himself an orphan.

The Dutch team, which will compete in the Pro-Am trophy, will continue its collaboration with the French team TDS Racing for at least two years.

In 2020, Racing Team Nederland finished fourth in the LMP2 championship with a victory at Mount Fuji, the first in its history, but could not do better than tenth in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
