Ragues: “a dream that comes true”

He himself describes this transfer as a “return home”. After driving the Pescarolo LMP2 of Saulnier Racing (former name of OAK Racing), Pierre Ragues will make his return to Jacques Nicolet's team. The opportunity to compete in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup in LMP1 in a Pescarolo could not be refused.

“I really enjoyed the season I spent with the team in 2008, says the 26-year-old Frenchman. The opportunity to move up to LMP1 was too tempting. Today I feel like I'm coming home a little. I am still a young driver, and being able to race in ILMC, on the most prestigious circuits like Sebring, Le Mans, Road Atlanta or Spa, is a dream come true. Although the central core of the team has remained the same, the structure has developed a lot since my departure and has become even more professional. I'm looking forward to starting my testing program in mid-February; it will be a very important period before the first round at Sebring. »

Pierre Ragues will share the seat with Guillaume Moreau during the seven rounds constituting the ILMC, including of course the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The French team, whose premises are now located in the middle of the 24 Hours circuit, continues its rise to the top. And if the identity of the third man has not yet been revealed, François Sicard is delighted to already have two fast and reliable drivers at his disposal.

“We are delighted to welcome Pierre back to the team, explains the General Director of OAK Racing. We have always stayed in touch since 2008 and we have closely followed his results? I have the feeling that he never really left us! Pierre is one of the most experienced young French drivers and he has clearly demonstrated that he possesses the two key qualities of endurance: speed and reliability. He knows Guillaume Moreau well since their time in Formula Renault and his technical experience in LMP1 will help the team enormously in its transition to the premier category. »

The French team can have great ambitions for the 2011 season.
