Rebellion Racing put itself forward in EL3 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the best night time for the trio Romain Dumas - Nathanaël Berthon - Louis Delétraz.

Rebellion at the forefront at night at Le Mans

If you Toyota Gazoo Racing appeared untouchable this Thursday for the marathon day comprising free practice 1 and 2 then qualifying, it was Rebellion Racing which finished free practice 3, contested at night, at the top of the hierarchy.

The trio Romain Dumas – Nathanaël Berthon – Louis Delétraz (Rebellion R13 n°3) completed a benchmark time in this final session of the day in 3’19″158, enough to beat the Toyota TS050 Hybrid n°7 of Lopez – Kobayashi - Conway a little less than half a second.

The second Rebellion R13 n°1 of Menezes – Senna – Nato completes the top three in front of the second Toyota n°8 of Buemi –Nakajima–Hartley. No trace in the top 5 of the Enso CLM P1/01 n°4 – ByKolles Racing, since Bruno Spengler made a mistake during the session at Tertre Rouge, causing a red flag.

 

 

Duqueine Engineering ended the day with the best time in LM P2 during these FP3, with a lap completed in 3'28"013 for the trio Hirschi - Terenschenko - Gommendy (Oreca n°30), more than nine tenths ahead of Oreca n °32 – United Autosports by Will Owen – Job van Uitert – Alex Brundle.

Jean-Eric Vergne, Roman Rusinov and Mikkel Jensen complete the top 3 in the category with the No. 01 Aurus 26 – G-Drive Racing.

Porsche ahead Aston Martin

The Porsche – Aston Martin crossover seems to be well and truly underway in GTE Pro since the German brand has once again taken the advantage over the British firm, which was nevertheless dominant during qualifying.

The #911 92 RSR of Kévin Estre – Michael Christensen – Laurens Vanthoor sets the benchmark time for the category in these EL3 in 3'52"177, a little less than three tenths ahead of the #97 Aston Martin Vantage of Maxime Martin – Alex Lynn – Harry Tincknell and just under five tenths ahead of the #95 of Marco Sorensen – Nicki Thiim – Richard Westbrook.

The first Ferrari 488 GTE n°51 – AF Corse by Pier Guidi – Calado – Serra is almost seven tenths behind. In GTE Am, Kei Cozzolino – Takeshi Kimura – Vincent Abril dominated the session with the #488 Ferrari 70 GTE – MR Racing / Car Guy.

The session was prematurely interrupted by a final red flag, caused by the exit of the No. 488 – Red River Sport Ferrari 62 GTE of Bonamy Grimes.

 

 

Driving will resume tomorrow in Sarthe with free practice 4 scheduled for 10 a.m.
