Risi Competizione with Gounon – Pla – Bourdais at the 24 Hours of Le Mans

Risi Competizione confirmed this Thursday its commitment to 24 Hours of Le Mans (September 19-20) in the GTE Pro category, while formalizing its 100% French crew, made up of Sébastien Bourdais, Olivier Pla and Jules Gounon.

If the first two mentioned had been announced during the presentation of the entry list for the 2020 edition, Jules Gounon will make his second consecutive appearance in Sarthe, he who already competed under the Risi banner in 2019 for his debut at Le Mans, alongside Oliver Jarvis and Pipo Derani.

Une confirmation qui vient dans la foulée de deux forfaits dans la catégorie : ceux des Porsche 911 RSR gérées par CORE Autosport, et du Corvette Racing sur fond de crise du coronavirus.

“We were happy to receive our entry at Le Mans again this year, because you can never take that for granted, comments Giuseppe Risi, boss of the Texan team.

The world went a little crazy in March, so we just sat back and waited to see what would happen. Le Mans is a very important race and the most important in sports cars.

Even though some teams will not be there, we intend to race as planned. Our trio of French drivers may be a little unexpected for my team, but they are all talented drivers who have proven themselves at Le Mans and elsewhere in racing.

Olivier Pla and Sébastien Bourdais have driven against our team in the past (with Ford Chip Ganassi Racing) and both have a great history at Le Mans and a great knowledge of the circuit.

Jules did a good job last year for us, so he was invited back on the road alongside his French compatriots. Le Mans is always a very special race for our team and this year is no exception. »

La Ferrari 488 GTE will be flanked by the No. 82 and should support the entry of the Prancing Horse, mainly led in GTE Pro by AF Corse on the Sarthe classic.
