Romain Dumas at Le Mans in an Audi R15

Audi has completed its squad for the 24 Hours of Le Mans by confirming the entry of Romain Dumas and Timo Bernhard. The commitment of Porsche drivers was made possible by the recent merger between the two brands.

Romain Dumas at Le Mans in an Audi R15

Sharing the wheel of a Porsche RS Spyder LMP2 in the ALMS over the past three seasons, Dumas and Bernard have scored nine overall victories, to go along with two consecutive titles. After winning the 12 Hours of Sebring, the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, they are in a position to add the biggest race in the world to their list of achievements.

Bernhard has three starts at Le Mans, while Dumas has already taken part in the Le Mans classic eight times. His best result is a 3rd place, acquired in 2007 with Pescarolo. “Win the 24 Hours of Le Mans is the ultimate dream of every pilot.Endurance. This is why I am happy to have the opportunity to race for Audi,” explains Dumas.

The Audi squad in Sarthe will therefore consist of Timo Bernhard (Germany), Dindo Capello (Italy), Romain Dumas (France), Tom Kristensen (Denmark), Lucas Luhr (Germany), Allan McNish (Scotland), Alexandre Prémat (France), Mike Rockenfeller (Germany) and Marco Werner (Germany).
