Romain Dumas confirmed at Signatech Alpine at Le Mans and Spa

We revealed this to you last week (see Ah n°2106), Romain Dumas will be part of the Signatech armada Alpine replacing Nicolas lapierre for 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 17-18), as well as for the Belgian event at Spa-Francorchamps, held on May 6, and which serves as a dress rehearsal before the Le Mans classic.

Philippe Sinault's team has revealed its crews for the World ChampionshipEndurance this Tuesday. L'Alpine A470 n°36 will be entrusted to Nicolas Lapierre, Gustavo Menezes and Matt Rao. The Frenchman, who will compete in Spa and Le Mans with Toyota, will therefore be replaced by Romain Dumas in the French LM P2.

On the other Alpine A470 n°35, Nelson Panciatici and Pierre Ragues, who is making his return to the structure with which he won the title ELMS 2013, will be associated with the Brazilian Andre Negro, former GP2 Series resident.

“When Nicolas Lapierre told us of the opportunity to aim for absolute victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, we did not hesitate to release him, admits Team Principal Philippe Sinault. It was therefore necessary to find a suitable replacement. I think Romain Dumas is the dream of any endurance team!

We are delighted to continue with Gustavo Menezes and Nelson Panciatici, to reunite with Pierre Ragues and to welcome Matt Rao and André Negrão.

After a magnificent 2016 season with Alpine, Stéphane Richelmi seized a great opportunity to race in GT with a top team and we wish him the same success. For this 2017 World Championship, we will be able to count on two very motivated crews to make the colors shine Alpine ! »

The Alpine A470 will compete in Monza, Italy this weekend during the Prologue.
