Silverstone will finally be on the menu for the “Super Season”

Le WEC has unveiled a new schedule for the 2018-2019 “Super Season”. The major novelty is the presence of the 6 Hours of Silverstone scheduled for August 19, which replaces the to-be-confirmed event which was to be held in February.

The British round will be contested in parallel with the raceELMS scheduled for the same weekend. The organizers of the European ChampionshipEndurance will unveil the complete calendar for the 2018 season at the 4 Hours of Spa scheduled for next weekend.

WEC organizers were also able to move the 6 Hours of Fuji to the weekend of October 21 to avoid a clash of dates with Petit Le Mans (Georgia), an important meeting of the season ofIMSA. This change could be made “with the invaluable help of Fuji International Speedway”, the statement said.

This change also forced WEC organizers to move the 6 Hours of Shanghai now scheduled for November 18 in order to have enough time to meet freight transport deadlines between Japan and China.
