Tincknell: don't focus on the past

Harry Tincknell will compete for the first time in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the GTE Pro category. The winner of the 82nd edition in 2014 in LMP2 with the Jota Sport will drive one of the four Ford GTs, sharing the wheel of the No. 67 with Marino Franchotti and Andy Priaulx.

“The pressure is present every year, regardless of the program, confided the Briton from the Nissan LMP1 program. We arrive with a magnificent story, 50 years after Ford's hat-trick at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. But everything has evolved greatly and we should not focus too much on the past but rather on what we can do now. We want to get the best result here but we are aware that it will be particularly difficult against fantastic competition. »

“It's positive to know that the car is both fast and reliable. I don't feel too nervous or worried, I just want to enjoy this opportunity. We won in 2014 by having good reliability. The preservation of mechanics is a particularly important subject to me. All manufacturers have their chances. I'm new to this category, but it at least promises to be an exciting race.", added Harry Tincknell.

The 2016 AUTO Guidehebdo of the 24 Hours of Le Mans remains available in digital version and on newsstands.
